Pasion del Cielo
A coffee shop? Yes. What makes it different from Starbucks or another mainstream coffee shop you may know of? 1.) Variety 2.) Comfort. I'm not sure if it's the couches or the staff or the atmosphere as a whole, but for me, this places never gets old.
So, there's three main things that compelled me to put this on the blog. First, and probably the most obvious one, the taste of the coffee. It was excellent. It was rich, flavorful and nothing was missing. Some places don't quite get it right or the coffee will taste as if loads of sugar have been added to the product, but that's not the case at Pasion del Cielo.
Secondly, the coffee selection. When you look up at the menu, just below it you'll find 12 different varieties of coffee that include flavors from Brazil, Ethiopia and everywhere in between. The coffee's aroma, body, taste, acidity, flavor, and origin are ranked on a scale of 1-4 with 4 being the strongest. This is especially useful because at other coffee locations, whatever they have is just what they have. You want it stronger? Add more espresso and stop crying about it. You don't like the taste? Add more sugar or go somewhere else. But at Pasion del Cielo you can choose from, a plethora of flavors. Plethora? Yes, plethora because anything over 5 options for something as simple as coffee in one location is unheard of.
The last thing that stuck out to me was the level of comfort. Couches, lamps, a coffee table. Is my mom here too? Because I feel like I'm at home. Wow, that was a terrible joke. Forgive me. But it is extremely cozy. Getting coffee and sitting down to read a book can be done anywhere, but I'd prefer to do it in a comfortable chair than a wooden/metal stool any day.
I purchased more items than the drink that's pictured above, but this post is all about the beans and the atmosphere so let's focus on that.
Price: Not to mention Starbucks again, but their prices are almost identical. It's also the easiest place to compare their prices to since almost everyone has been to Starbuck's at least once.
Decor: Outside of the comfort, which I've already mentioned, the venue includes a brick wall, a TV (at some locations), and of course tables & chairs that coincide with the overall theme of the venue .
