Morgan's

If you know even a little bit about brunch spots and good food in Miami, you know about Morgan’s or you’ve been here at least once. Morgan’s is famous for it’s brunch and I’m so happy to inform you that they serve brunch all day. ALL. DAY. LONG. That alone had me excited.

When I walked in it was very clean, and everything was in place. Wait, let me back up. There’s an indoor and patio area so, “walking in” is really just entering the patio area where 95% of the seating is. Let's talk about the inside, very briefly. The wallpaper and bar inside are gorgeoussss, but also nonexistent. There’s two tables for seating, a few seats at the bar, and everything else is outside. I don’t mind this, but you should be aware of what you're getting into coming here. The patio is well covered and the temperature was just right due to multiple fans being present. You’ll most likely be seated in the patio area unless you don’t mind waiting a very long time for customers inside to finish their meal. And if it’s during a peak time like brunch (an all day event on the weekends) then you’ll be waiting til next week. Accept your fate. Sit outside, beloved.

Now it’s time to discuss DA FOOOOD.*

They definitely care about presentation here. Every single dish that came to our table was well put together. Even the drinks had creative energy put into them. Now, the portion sizes? Insane. In a good way though. The portions are large. Even a simple appetizer is large. I warned you. Act accordingly. Well, order accordingly.

This post is more about the restaurant itself because I really admired the atmosphere. The food was good too, but the ambiance was even better. This place definitely screams brunch more than anything depending on the day you go. During typical Saturday/Sunday brunch days it's about the mimosas and typical brunch dishes, during weekdays, you'll actually focus on your food a little more and possibly explore other parts of the menu outside of the brunch section.

First visit tips:

(1) I would suggest sticking to simple items like pancakes, waffles, fish tacos, anything in the small plates section, etc. just to get a good feel of the establishment first.

(2) Play it safe or ask the waitress/waiter for recommendations before ordering OR just waste your money on some random dish since you don’t wanna listen to good advice.

Price: Eh. Some dishes can be more on the pricey side, but there’s hope! Some dishes can be ordered as a half portion! They have their famous mac n cheese for around $16 because it can be used as a main dish, but you can order it as a half portion!! Which is cheaper and still a good sized dish. I didn’t get to finish my half portion while I was at the restaurant. So, don’t spazz over the price, this place is still worth the visit.

Occasion: I think Morgan's would be good for almost anything. Celebrating any special event, a casual lunch, brunch, catching up with friends, brunch, you're just in the mood for good food, or even BRUNCH.

Decor: Verrrrryyyy nice. I really like how they have a minimalistic approach. It’s not too much or too little, and nothing feels missing. (wow, wish I felt the same way about my life but, I digress *sigh*)

Dress: This is going to sound extremely opinionated, just like everything else on this blog, but Morgan’s is a place where you should try to dress well. Dressy casual actually. Nice shirt, nice pants, nice shoes. You should be comfortable and relaxed, but definitely put some effort into what you wear here. It’s only appropriate. And if you go during the usual Saturday/Sunday brunch times then you need to rise to the occasion. Dress well. You know the drill. It's brunch, respect it.

*Da food=the food. Yes, I have a degree but slang will never leave my vocabulary. *hair flip*
